Klingemann, Karl (1798–1862)

Karl Klingemann (1798 – 1862), diplomat and poet, was born in Limmer an der Leine. He was secretary of the Hanoverian Legation in Berlin and, from 1828, in London. He was also a gifted poet. He was Felix Mendelssohn’s companion on his travels to Scotland. He died in London in 1862. ChoralWiki
