Francesco Maria Berio di Salsa (1765 – 1820) was a Neapolitan scholar and gentleman. His family, of Spanish origin, first moved to Genoa and then to Naples. He was the author of verses, which have simplicity of style and freshness of language and bring him closer to the many Neapolitan poets of the previous century. Treccani-IT
