IPA Source offers the largest and most extensive collection of opera arias, art songs, and Latin texts that can significantly enhance and support your voice program. A trial subscription to IPA Source provides a valuable opportunity to explore the platform and experience firsthand how it can support teaching and learning objectives. By effectively utilizing the trial, you can build a strong case for an institutional subscription that ensures all voice students and faculty have access to this valuable resource. Here is a guide on how to prepare for a successful institutional trial of our resource.
Get Ready
Gather information to apply for a trial. We’ll need to know:
- Your institution’s name
- The name of the library at your institution
- Contact information for the person who will be our administrative contact
- The URL for your institution
- Your invoice person’s contact information
- The number of students taking voice lessons, regardless of major (this is best obtained from your voice department chair)
- The preferred start date of your trial
- How you’d prefer to pay us should you choose to subscribe
- If your institution offers graduate studies in voice
- How you wish to authenticate – OpenAthens, IP authentication, or both
If you wish to authenticate via OpenAthens, your university must be a member of the OpenAthens Federation.
If you wish to authenticate via IP Authentication, we need the all external IPs/ranges for your campus network as well as the single IP address for the proxy server providing off-site access for students and faculty, if applicable. We require that this information be provided in standard IPv4 format without CIDR.
NOTE: we do not use/want your subdomains nor internal/private IPs, just the outside/external IPs.
If you don’t have this information, your electronic resources librarian or IT department would have this information easily available. Please feel free to show them this article.
