Manuel Giró (1848 – 1916) was a Spanish composer. He studied organ and composition at the cathedral school in Lérida and later in Barcelona and Paris. He is known for his popular operas, II rinegato Alonso Garcia and El combrero de ires picos. He also wrote ballets, choral music, chamber music, and works for the piano. Encyclopedia.com
