Features
IP Authentication
We offer a few different methods for our institutional customers to access our service. The primary means is via IP Address authentication for campus IP addresses. This method also allows access to our database using proxy tools like EZProxy, WAM, and OpenAthens (through their Shibboleth wrapper).
Single Sign-on (SSO) via Shibboleth
Our Shibboleth SSO (single sign on) option allows users to sign in using their school accounts. When filling out your institutional request form, please indicate which tool(s) your institution would like to take advantage of so that we can help with onboarding.
NOTE: You must support the ability to establish a 1:1 relationship in your configurations for Shibboleth (not all federations may provide for this).
IPA Source supports SERU
SERU is a recommended practice of the National Information Standards Organization. It has been crafted by librarians and publishers for use in the United States, but has possible applications for sales in other countries as well. SERU has been used successfully by publishers of all sizes since 2007.
Visit https://www.niso.org/standards-committees/seru to learn more and register, if your institution is not a member.
View the NISO SERU registry here: https://sites.google.com/niso.org/registry-seru/
In lieu of license agreements, IPA Source supports SERU.
Unlimited Users and Unique Materials
Access is for unlimited simultaneous users over the entire IP range.
All materials on IPA Source are considered public domain in the United States. Although IPA transcriptions with word-for-word translations can be found in book form, over 50% of the material found on IPA Source is unique to our site.
