IPA Source now supports institutional authentication through SURFconext

IPA Source offers our institutional customers campus-wide access to our database via IP authentication.  In addition, we also offer access via Shibboleth for those institutions that utilize it for single sign on (SSO).

We are pleased to now offer SURFconext as an additional method of authentication for institutions that use SURFconext for managing their SSO to resources. Not only does this enable organizations throughout the Netherlands an alternative method of accessing the IPA Source database, but also enables international collaboration through eduGAIN.

eduGAIN interconnects identity federations around the world (interfederation), thus simplifying access to content, services and resources for the global research and education community. eduGAIN enables the trustworthy exchange of information related to identity, authentication and authorization (AAI) by coordinating elements of the federations’ technical infrastructure and providing a policy framework that controls this information exchange. eduGAIN is a service developed within the GÉANT project.

Institutions interested in utilizing SURFconext for accessing IPA Source should contact our support team. If your institution does not yet offer access to IPA Source, apply for a 14-day free trial by visiting our institutional subscriptions page.
